HKS HIPERMAX S Coilovers for FK8 Honda Civic Type R

In the pursuit of a comfortable ride and enhanced handling performance, a newly introduced variant of HIPERMAX S is now available. This variant incorporates a pillow ball spherical bearing at the front upper mount, aiming to provide a more enjoyable driving experience.

Now available for the FK8, the HIPERMAX S is a coilover kit designed specifically for enthusiasts who enjoy street driving. The suspension stroke has been meticulously developed to prioritize comfort during street driving, providing a smooth and enjoyable ride. The threaded front side is optimized to maximize stroke volume, striking a balance between driving performance worthy of the Type R name and a comfortable ride experience. This kit is suitable for a wide range of driving scenarios and stages. To accommodate the installation of wider front wheels, camber adjustable front pillow upper mounts have been incorporated.

In 2021, the three existing MAX IV GT series have been reimagined and unified under the HIPERMAX S series. With nine years of advancement since the launch of the MAX IV GT, HKS has developed new technologies and refined various aspects including damping force characteristics, durability, and aesthetic appeal. The HIPERMAX S series encompasses the exceptional characteristics of its predecessors while elevating performance, durability, and visual aesthetics. It stands as a testament to HKS’s commitment to innovation and represents the pinnacle of suspension technology, offering the best ride experience in HKS’s esteemed suspension history.

Dual PVS

  • The existing preload valve system has been evolved into a dual preload valve system to minimize the generation of unnecessary damping force at higher piston speeds. This advancement brings about a substantial enhancement in ride comfort without compromising the overall driving performance.

Wide Range Damping Force Adjustment Mechanism

  • The improved shape of the Needle jet expands the range of damping force adjustment, allowing for enhanced control and adaptability. This advancement empowers drivers to navigate a wider array of stages with ease, providing increased flexibility to fine-tune the suspension to their specific preferences and driving conditions.

Evolution of Bump Stop Rubber

  • The introduction of a new bump stop rubber design accomplishes two objectives simultaneously: reducing body roll and achieving optimal ride comfort. This unique design surpasses the capabilities of standard hydro bump stop rubbers, providing a balance of improved stability during cornering and a comfortable ride experience.

Low Friction Technology

  • By leveraging advanced tribology technology, even higher durability and lower friction have been achieved in comparison to conventional products. This technological breakthrough significantly contributes to improved ride quality and enhanced handling performance, benefiting drivers with an elevated driving experience.

3-Year Warranty

  • With optimized internal parts and quality improvements, the HIPERMAX S Series extends its warranty period to three years, surpassing the conventional MAX IV GT series’ one-year warranty. This longer warranty duration reflects the commitment to superior durability and reliability in the product. It demonstrates the confidence in the enhanced design and quality of the HIPERMAX S Series, ensuring customer satisfaction and peace of mind.

About HKS

In 1973, two skilled engineers named Hiroyuki Hasegawa and Mr. Kitagawa embarked on a remarkable endeavor to produce high-performance engines and parts that were not readily available from major original equipment manufacturers. With the backing of Sigma Automotive Co., Ltd, they initiated their journey in a barn located near Mount Fuji, Japan, where they dedicated themselves to modifying gasoline engines. The following year, Hasegawa accomplished a groundbreaking achievement by designing the very first aftermarket turbocharger for passenger vehicles. This pioneering development established a new benchmark in the realm of aftermarket performance.

Driven by a relentless spirit of innovation, HKS continued to push boundaries and introduce groundbreaking products to the market. They introduced various notable advancements such as the first electronic turbo timer and boost controller, as well as piggy-back fuel computers and sophisticated fuel management devices. These innovations propelled HKS to the forefront of the Japanese aftermarket performance scene, solidifying their reputation as an industry leader.
